ABOUT THE BOOKAbout the Author

　　Robert L. Linville has worked in the field of competitive intelligence for eight years with companies such as IBM Federal Systems, Loral Corporation, and New York State Electric & Gas. He is the owner of Competitive Horizons, a market research firm in upstate New York. Mr. Linville has conducted guest lectures on CI at Syracuse University, for various businesses, and at seminars across the country. He also teaches a class in CI for Syracuse University's master's program in information resource management.
　　Additionally, Mr. Linville is the founder of the Upstate New York chapter of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals(SCIP). In 1995, he received the Catalyst Award, recognizing his contributions to the competitive intelligence profession and SCIP, at the Society's annual international conference.
